Since 1965, Westbrook Ambulance Association has been providing emergency medical services to the Town of Westbrook. It was started by a group of people coming together for one purpose, the health and safety of the people of Westbrook. Back in 1965, the Association had one ambulance with very limited supplies with crews trained in basic first aid skills. Today, we have two ambulances with many state of the art medical supplies including Semi-Automated External Defibrillators, portable oxygen supplies and single person operated stretchers to name a few. Our personnel are certified as Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) or Emergency Medical Responders (EMR) after successfully completing the required course material, observation time and practical skills evaluations for each level, by the State of Connecticut Office of Emergency Medical Services.
